Challenges of developing or building upon real world theory-based implementation evaluations

Category: Evaluation Frameworks, New Care Models, Service Integration

Date: 2019

This 2019 story board reviews the findings and learning points from evaluations of Integrated Care Teams [ICTs] in 7 Wessex localities covering 8 MDTs to discuss the challenges of attempting to develop and build upon real world theory-based implementation evaluations. All the evaluations were underpinned by the Normalisation Process Theory [NPT] and/or the Normalisation MeAsure Development [NoMAD]. Regardless of whether led by GPs or Advanced Nurse Practitioners, MDTs had become embedded in routine practice, although to varying extents, but not linked to the type of staff leading them.
