Patient Safety Programme Lead | Maternity & Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme

Rebecca Savage is one of our Programme Managers currently working within the Maternity and Neonatal workstream. She is working across the work streams with her co-lead Kate Heard whilst taking a primary role in the development of the optimisation and stabilisation of the preterm infant across the Wessex region. Rebecca has joined us from Maternity Services where she has worked in various clinical and educational roles for the last 16 years.

For the previous three years Rebecca has been on the HEE consultant practitioner development programme as a consultant midwife. She has gained experience working across national, regional and local workstreams and held a PHE WHO Collaborating Centre Technical Advisory role. Her specialist areas are public health, perinatal mental wellbeing and community, birthing centre clinical care. She is currently undertaking a PhD at Bournemouth University studying severe fear of birth and the transition to motherhood.
