Ms Cindy Brooks

Research Fellow, CIS

Cindy Brooks joined in January 2017 as a Research Fellow at Wessex AHSN - Centre for Implementation Science (CIS) within Health Sciences, University of Southampton.

Previous projects include a mixed method research study to improve the delivery of nutrition to people living with dementia in the community (Bournemouth University) and research exploring the experiences, preferences and needs of cancer patients (University of Southampton).

Cindy obtained qualitative health focused Masters degrees from Middlesex University (MPhil) and the University of London (MA), a PG Certificate in Research Methods from Middlesex University and a mixed methods BSc (Hons) degree in Sociology at the University of Surrey.

Her work involves supporting various AHSN quality improvement programmes. Recent projects, Cindy is involved in include Independent evaluations of Wessex Vanguard New Care Models [Dorset, Isle of Wight and North East Hampshire and Farnham] and leading projects relating to Dorset Stroke, Medicine Optimisation and Digital Health.

Cindy’s specialist areas: Using qualitative research, evaluation and implementation methods to explore and improve the experiences of patients, their families and health and social care professionals.

  • Brings together expertise from across academia, AHSN partner organisations, local services and national sources
