Dr Anastasios Argyropoulos

Research Fellow CIS

Anastasios (BSc, MSc- Distinction, PhD) joined Wessex AHSN in 2017 and is a Research Fellow within Centre for Implementation Science (CIS), University of Southampton.

In 2014, after completing his PhD, Anastasios was appointed as an Associate Research Fellow to work on the University of Exeter/ Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust “Risk on hospital admission” project. During this period he worked on developing predictive models using patient data for healthcare applications and cultivated a research interest in sustainable and cost efficient healthcare.

Anastasios’ work focuses on data analytics and development of healthcare technologies aiming to optimise patient diagnosis and treatment both directly (prediction model development), and indirectly (data analysis and visualisation).

As a member of the CIS he leads and provides ongoing support to various projects and programmes with the AHSN.

Anastasios’ specialist areas: Quantitative data analysis, predictive modelling, communication and visualisation.

CIS Services:

  • Applies research methods and data analysis to evaluate health and care services

  • Encourages the impact and spread of evidence based healthcare

  • Brings together expertise from across academia, AHSN partner organisations, local services and national sources

  • Creates tools to support healthcare improvement
