AHSN celebrates World Patient Safety Day

To celebrate World Patient Safety Day (17 September) our Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC) team put a call out to health organisations around the Wessex region, asking for individual and teams’ successes over the last year.

The PSC team received a terrific response, all wanting to recognise the amazing work achieved across Wessex for the safety of our health and care workers and our patients, and we wanted to celebrate this special day by highlighting individual and teams’ successes. It is particularly important given the pandemic, and the response by the NHS.

Kathy Wallis, Associate Director for Healthy Ageing and Patient Safety, said: “We are delighted and excited to share some of the great work that has been taking place across Wessex to support the WHO World Patient Safety Day. 

"The objectives of World Patient Safety Day are to increase public awareness and engagement, enhance global understanding, and spur global solidarity and action to promote patient safety."
