In October 2020, the NHS became the world’s first health service to commit to reaching carbon net zero, in response to the profound and growing threat to health posed by climate change. The Greener NHS National programme exists to deliver the world’s first net zero health service and respond to climate change, improving health now and for future generations.
We are in a unique position to support the drive for environmental sustainability at every stage of the innovation pathway. We will support the development and uptake of innovations that support this crucial agenda through our work with industry, academia and the health and care system in local, regional and national settings.
