Application deadline: There is no formal deadline for applications, however the process is competitive, and places are limited. Applications received before 4 January will be notified if they have been successful no later than 8 January. Applications received after 4 January, will be welcomed and assessed, dependent on remaining course capacity.
Run in conjunction with SETsquared, the Global # 1 University Business Incubator, this course includes modules on the NHS as a marketplace, value proposition, business planning, funding sources, and how to pitch to investors. The course ends with a real pitch to a panel of local experts, which provides you a real opportunity to gather constructive feedback from a room full of critical friends.
Previous delegates (HIP’sters) have found the course enjoyable, challenging and productive. For some this course has provided a launchpad directly into the Southampton Science Park Catalyst Centre, where they continue to grow their company in a nurtured, supported and free environment.
“The Health Innovation Programme was really valuable. Understanding and accepting the complexities of commissioning, working out how we can work with the NHS, focusing in on customer needs and the importance of getting our processes right so our early adopters receive a really positive experience.
The programme provided a valuable opportunity to stop and reflect. The mentors were amazing and will be useful contacts going forward - I found the pitch training particularly valuable. It also makes you think about putting the infrastructure in place to scale your business."
I would advise other healthcare entrepreneurs to access all the support available to them. There’s no easy, quick route but the Health Innovation Programme will put you on the right track”.
