The Reducing Harm from Alcohol programme has led to the development of a network of committed clinicians and other stakeholders from CCGs and Public Health across the region.
This network remains committed to improving patient outcomes from alcohol related harm in local areas through research, audit and close collaboration and adoption of common pathways.
Although the programme comes to a close, from April 2018 the group will continue to grow and flourish under a new name, the Wessex Alcohol Group, and new umbrella organisation the Wessex Cancer Alliance.
Plans for 2018/19 are to focus on the Risky Behaviours national CQUIN 9, Breast Cancer Screening project and links with Macmillan nurses for training and alcohol screening.
