We have been undertaking Innovation Adoption Insight Reviews with a series of our member Trusts to build regional understanding of spread and adoption in practice, and to support our members to identify areas where this could be improved.
We have now undertaken three adoption reviews; at Hampshire Hospitals NHS FT, Dorset County Hospital NHS FT, and most recently University Hospital Southampton NHS FT. All three reviews followed a similar qualitative methodology.
This line of work is part of a wider work stream to develop a best practice model which supports the spread of proven innovation.
Undertaking these reviews with our member trusts has two aims:
i) To give the trust the opportunity to review its current roles and processes in support of innovation, and to identify areas of best practice and improvement
ii) For WAHSN to increase its understanding of the identification, decision making and implementation roles and processes for innovation at the trust, and for this to inform the best practice model it is developing
