You might be a Local Authority, in the third sector, a big business (non-pharma) or a local enterprise partnership (LEP). We can help if you share our commitment to delivering health and wealth benefits to Wessex (Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight and south Wiltshire) within the period of our 5-year licence.
Wessex Academic Health Science Network (Wessex AHSN) can offer unprecedented access to the NHS, Universities and other businesses and key stakeholders in our geography. This can help you validate your ideas and approach, and identify partnership opportunities including perhaps product co-creation opportunities and setting up clinical trials. We are also seeking to reduce some of the barriers when dealing with the NHS, such as the complexity around procurement and navigating the health system.
Wessex AHSN has developed a cross sector innovation support infrastructure which includes networking and events, a strategic partnership with the SETsquared Partnership (Europe’s leading University business incubator) and other membership-type services.
Access to finance is a challenge that most organisations face. Wessex AHSN can help you navigate the funding landscape, and we have recently launched our own Investment Fund and information on grants and funding opportunities, as well as providing assistance in the form of bid writing or project support.
We have strong links with our local Strategic Clinical Networks (SCN) and NIHR Clinical Research Networks (CRN) and can provide assistance with your clinical trials. This might include signposting and making introductions to potentially interested clinicians as well as supporting effective recruitment.
The adoption of the right cost-saving innovations will improve the efficiency and productivity of the NHS. Wessex AHSN is keen to help identify and assist with the spread of the right innovation for the benefit of the health service and the overall economy.
