Angus Donald

Programme Manager, Industry and Innovation

Angus joined Health Innovation Wessex in 2023 as a Programme Manager in the Industry and Innovation team. He brings a wealth of commercial experience across a range of medical device categories and market sectors, predominantly in sales, marketing and business development roles in the UK, but also extensive experience of exporting and managing international business.

More recently he has worked in a UK SME, experiencing first-hand the multiple challenges involved in product development, securing funding and navigating the increasingly complex regulatory environment, all part of bringing a novel medical device to market.

Prior to that, Angus spent seven years in the South-West NHS Innovation Hub (a predecessor of the Academic Health Science Networks), working with innovators, SMEs and NHS organisations providing commercialisation support and Intellectual Property advice alongside project management on a diverse range of innovations from intravenous devices and rehab aids, through to cardiac pacemakers and early cancer diagnostic systems.

He is looking forward to applying this experience and understanding of NHS requirements in this exciting role to support innovators and work with NHS partners from local and national networks to improve patient care.
