Primary care

What was delivered in 2022-23?

  • We hosted four listening events for colleagues working in primary and/or community care across Wessex, to identify and inform key areas of focus for our work. The events were followed by a report which summarised the key themes and established priorities.
  • We facilitated three bespoke workshops for a Hampshire GP practice to enable them to explore innovations and new ways of working that would enable them to provide additional services for their patients. This was followed by a recommendation report.
  • We delivered the recommendation report to St Clements Partnership, which was instrumental in securing the funding needed for the practice to build a new facility which could enhance patient care.
  • We supported the Self-Care Demonstrator Site Project, involving the implementation of three innovations within primary care in Hampshire, alongside an independent evaluation report relating to each innovation.

“We are delighted to see St Clements Surgery break ground and move forward with their new premises. This project has been a great example of collaborative working between practice staff, primary care, system commissioners, specialist developers, the local authority and public stakeholders. Wessex AHSN is proud to have supported the practice to identify innovative ways of working to encourage the wellbeing of staff and improve the experience for patients.”

Nicola Bent, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Wessex AHSN
