Are you fascinated by change and innovation? Can you help the NHS adopt innovation faster to deliver better care to patients?

As one of 15 Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) across England, we connect and support academics, NHS, industry and others to bring fresh energy to old problems, inspired thinking to new ones and to adopt innovative practice at scale.

Wessex AHSN is hosted by University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, and as such, our roles enjoy NHS terms and conditions. Vacancies listed below will take you through to a link on NHS Jobs.

Diversity and inclusivity

We value a workforce where people’s diverse backgrounds and experiences bring different perspectives and fresh ideas resulting in the development and spread of life-changing innovations. All AHSNs are signed up to the AHSN Network's diversity pledges.

Our team, our culture

Our values and behaviours are central to our work and how we operate in our day-to-day work life. We encourage a successful work/life balance and offer flexible working dependent on the requirements of each role, plus training allowances to support your personal development and career goals. Our staff engagement groups shape the organisation’s culture to allow our people to flourish despite times of challenge, change and high demand. We actively uphold values of innovation, inclusivity, collaboration, achievement and trust.

Part of a wider network

As the innovation arm of the NHS, and one of fifteen Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) established by NHS England in 2013, we are uniquely placed to take what works locally and spread it across large geographies. Find out more here.

Discover the local area

Wessex AHSN is based at the Southampton Science Park in Chilworth, close to central Southampton and easily accessed from the M3 and M27 motorways, and Southampton Parkway train station.

We are located in a bright modern office, with free parking and a café and networking spaces on site. 27 acres of the Science Park site are designated a protected Conservation Area and staff are encouraged to explore them.

Set in the heart of the south of England, there's plenty to do in Hampshire. Come and join us!
