A key role of Wessex AHSN is supporting the spread and adoption of innovation. The aim of the Nationally Prioritised Innovations Programme is to improve patient outcomes, provide better value for money to the NHS, and support economic growth. Find out more about the national AHSN network here.
There are a number of way to identify evidenced and proven innovations which are ready for spread by the AHSN Network. Many are national competitions, including the following.
In addition, the AHSN Network has also designated a number of innovations as ‘national priorities’ . These innovations have developed from regional projects led by individual AHSNs, and have evidence of proven impact. The AHSN Network has deemed these innovations ready for spread on a national scale. AHSN prioritised innovations can be seen here.
Our Nationally Prioritised Innovations Programme has been created to support the spread, implementation, and sustainability of nationally prioritised innovations across the Wessex region. We spread innovation using our evidenced based method – you can download a copy of our programme strategy from the resources section. We offer support to innovators, adopters, and the wider health and care system in a number of ways, whether this be through demystifying NHS procurement, providing support for pilots, identifying demonstrator sites or real world evaluation. Details of this support can be found here.
