Ross Dent, Associate Director for Technology Appraisals at NICE presents 'An Introduction to Health Economics'. The webinar, hosted by Health Innovation Wessex (HIW) on 07 Nov 2023, was attended by delegates from across Dorset, Oxford, and Hampshire and the Isle of Wight as part of HIW's support to integrated care systems to use cost effective analysis to help evidence impact and value of service transformation.
Ross started with debunking myths related to health economics before demonstrating how best to assess cost effectiveness in health care. The session included information on what is a QALY, how best to use one, and when to use different types of QALY's such as the EQ-5D.
