Wessex AHSN was commissioned to evaluate an exemplar acute mental health ward in the Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust (SHFT). This ward was part of a quality improvement (QI) programme to initiate changes that successfully improved patient and staff safety, and quality of care on that ward. Following effective deployment of practice changes the evaluation aimed to understand the key success factors to enable transfer of learning to other similar mental health wards in the trust.
