Spread and adoption model: Webinar for AAC Rapid Uptake Products

We've been researching and developing a standardised, evidence based approach to the spread and adoption of innovations in our region. We call this our 'spread and adoption model' – the model is constantly evolving, with a key output being a 'spread and adoption plan'.

This video is the combination of two webinars held in early March 2019 to introduce the first three components of our model and the spread and adoption planning template to colleagues from other AHSNs.

Explaining Primary Care Demonstrator sites

In this video, we introduce the Wessex Primary Care Demonstrator Site programme, which focuses on conducting pragmatic, reasonably rapid (within a year) yet robust trials of packages of innovations that offer the opportunity to fundamentally improve outcomes and efficiency of clinical services.

We hear from our Associate Director of Primary Care, Rachel Dominey; Hampshire GP Dr Anthony Leung; and the CEO of Southampton-based healthcare innovation company, xim, Laurence Pearce.

Better Local Care: the story so far

Better Local Care in Hampshire wants to simplify how you access health and social care in your community by removing the red tape that often causes delays and frustration so you get the care you need at the right time, in the right place, by the right person.

It will achieve this by bringing together care professionals who already support the same local people, offering new ways for patients and the public to shape their own local services, and making sure care funding goes where it will make the biggest difference to people’s lives.

This video, produced by our CCG colleagues, describes the work of the Better Local Care programme over the past three years (2015-18), the results and what’s next.

Making GP practices Dementia Friendly with iSPACE

This webinar covers the key actions that surgeries need to take to become Dementia Friendly. Programme Lead, Katherine Barbour, discusses the experiences in Wessex, key successes and learning, and highlights the outcomes for people with dementia, carers and primary care.

NB: There is a minor erratum at the start of the talk. The three delivery models in Nottinghamshire relate to the spread of a dementia friendly toolkit developed during the iSPACE pilot in Derbyshire.

Getting to grips with the new NHS app endorsement process

There are over 100,000 health apps already, but a perception of low quality is leading to low uptake by patients and health care professionals alike. NHS England, The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and Public Health England have worked together to develop an App Endorsement Process, launched earlier this year. Diarmaid Crean, who has been instrumental in putting this process into action, talked through the App Endorsement Process: covering who, why, how, when and taking questions.
